I'm never quite sure exactly where my imagination is going to drag me next, but here are some of the place it's dragged me in the past.

Here's a turmite applet that randomizes an input pattern that you give it in a reversible way. I'm not sure what this thing is good for but it's fun to watch and I feel certain that it'll be important for something.

Here's a cellular automaton applet that models all rules in the same class as Conway's Game of Life. You can tweak the rules while the game is running. It may take a moment to start up, so please be patient.

I also started work a while back on a Java project to replace Swing with a graphics toolkit that delivered what Java was capable of. Thankfully, Javasoft has appeared to have caught up a little with JavaFX. Nevertheless, my system would have been cooler. Really.
